There was no resounding Alleluia Chorus to be heard, the sky did not open up. When I gave my life to Christ it was the fulfillment of the faithful prayers of many others on my behalf. I am a lover of history and of our country privileged to have seen a few other lands and their people grateful for the sight that I have been given on loan blessed by the scenes before me and the vision to see what they may look like at another hour and in another season. He spends his spare time exploring La Jolla on foot.I am a seat-of-the-pants photographer: with not the best of equipment but not the worst either possessing good timing but no stranger to poor with camera gear in tow and at other times without witness to incredible light and often not so there at the right moment and frequently just a few minutes too late. He is also very active with his church, family, friends, and travel. ![]() Since retiring he currently serves on the Boards of 4 companies, primarily startups has served on the Board of the Fleet Science Center, and still serves on it’s Programs Committee. Corp and was responsible for strategic planning, evaluating new technologies relevant to SAIC, and M & A. It was then he had an opportunity to move to San Diego and accepted a position as Senior Corp. which developed both hardware and software, primarily for the classified community. He joined the Lockheed Corp and moved to TX as VP/General Mgr. ![]() of the Electro-Optical Division which was responsible for developing new capabilities for both government and commercial applications. After a short tour with the Army Corps of Engineers he joined a startup consulting firm and transitioned to space reconnaissance systems and became Director, at the Perkin-Elmer Corp, of the final space-based film system. Mike started work life as an aerospace engineer, with a minor in hypersonic aerodynamics, and thus became involved with the design of rockets and space systems with both North American Aviation (now Rockwell Int’l.) and Space Technology Labs (now TRW). Although his career took him many places he managed to return to his favorite: La Jolla. Mike has been a resident of La Jolla for 27 years although his first visit occurred in 1960 when he and friends drove down from Los Angeles to spend the day and Mike got to visit two of his favorite places: the library and Meanley’s Hardware store. From 2017-2020, Ron’s weekly one-hour California Dreaming radio show, featured on the Voice Of Peace network, amassed a worldwide listenership in the hundreds of thousands. His local business resume lists ownership of three production companies: special events promoter Allegro Entertainment, Boomer DJ’s mobile music, Message-On Hold telephone services, and since 2013, management of the popular Voice Of La Jolla Community Internet Radio station. Today he serves his community as La Jolla Town Council Communications Director and is celebrating his fourteenth year as president of La Jolla Meals-On Wheels. He served the San Diego DJ Association as president for 15 years (1994- 2009) acted as president of the Torrey Pines Theatre for three years, and as president of the La Jolla Rotary Club (2011-12) as interim executive director of both the La Jolla Community Center (2008) and the La Jolla Town Council (2007). For 19 seasons Ron J performed as the emcee and co-producer of the popular La Jolla Concerts by the Sea series. ![]() He continues to provide voices for countless video game characters and commercial advertisements in front of and behind the camera. ![]() He returned stateside from his Air Force commitment DJing in Turkey and Greece in 1970 and began lengthy stints in radio and television studios nationally and internationally along with featured appearances on film sets and theater stages here and abroad while adding 19-years of spinning discs in San Diego dance clubs. Jones has been a resident of La Jolla for more than forty years and lays claim to an over fifty-year entertainment career resume beginning with the American Forces Radio Service in 1968.
